"Factions" Created By Primitive Ego Thinking Are The Primary Threat To Democracy And Our Future
A democracy is a fragile structure created by humans. It needs to be vigorously defended from those forces that would lead to its collapse. Unfortunately, America is a democracy standing on the edge of collapse. The current growing right-wing populism and right-wing political extremism pose a serious threat to our American democracy, but they are not the primary threat! They are simply the extremist right-wing political threats that have been created and reinforced by the primary threat…… the unevolved, immature, collective primitive ego-consciousness of humanity created by its early childhood conditioning.

I have been writing for much of my career as a mental health therapist about Primitive Ego Psychology and the dangers of primitive ego thinking. If we continue to use this unconscious, unevolved, immature, early childhood primitive ego thinking, the future of human civilization and our American and global democracies are in peril. Stated simply, primitive ego thinking and early childhood conditioning create cancerous "factions" that metastasize and infect democracies and governments worldwide. The best description of a "faction" can be found in Thom Hartmann's excellent article "Is America Facing The "Doom Loop" of Democracy? This is one of the best articles I've ever read on "factions" and their danger to our American and global democracies. It is very well written and very digestible. Don't miss it!
The Definition of a "Faction"
A "faction" is a group of ultra-wealthy dictators or oligarchs who desire to amass extreme wealth and power. These ultra-wealthy individuals work together to intentionally undermine and weaken the laws and guardrails designed to protect democratic governments. In addition, they use their wealth and power to "buy" the politicians who agree to pass laws that will intentionally increase their ability to expand their wealth and oligarchic political power.
These wealthy, politically powerful oligarchic "factions" supported by primitive early childhood conditioning and thinking of the commons ...."seed" a dangerous political cancer that quickly spreads inside a democracy. Every empire created by humanity has fallen victim to the ultra-wealthy, extreme right-wing oligarch factions created by primitive ego thinking. Putin and Ukraine are simply a current example of an obscenely wealthy and powerful oligarchic political "faction" destroying another democratic nation.
So How Are "Factions" Created And Supported by Primitive Ego Thinking?
Essentially, a primitive ego-consciousness aggressively undermines the social values that define a democracy. Values that include protecting access to the necessities of everyday life for its citizens, and the concept that every person's voteis protected. A healthy democracy protects the freedom of speech, the power of "truth', the importance of a free press, and laws that equally include and protect every member of the democracy.
In direct contrast to the above social values in a democracy, the primary focus of primitive ego thinking is limited to values that support a "what's in it for "me" (greed), and a belligerent need to be "right" (I'm right, you're wrong!)
A Model / Metaphor: Think About A Democracy As A Stable Table
Picture a healthy democracy as a solid, stable table with four strong legs.
Leg #1 of the table is the freedom of "speech." (A Free Press)
Leg #2 of the table is the power of "truth." (A Free Press)
Leg #3 of the table is the "well-being" of every person.
Leg #4 of the table is the ability to embrace "we" thinking (i.e., laws that reflect the equality of every person in the democracy.)
When any leg of the table is compromised by primitive ego thinking, the table becomes unstable! The collapse of the table (the Democracy it represents) is only a matter of time!
When: The primitive ego-consciousness insists on "the need to be "right,"…. it attacks legs #1 and #2.(Extreme polarization, rigidity, and tribalism.)
When: The primitive ego-consciousness focuses primarily on "what's in it for "me," it attacks leg # three. (Greed. Extreme wealth inequality. Poverty.)
When: The primitive ego-consciousness manifests an arrogant "don't tell "me" what to do, ".... it attacks leg #4. (Entitlement and the assumption that laws don't apply to them. Truth is not important or essential.)
When: The primitive ego-consciousness rejects the rights and values of "others,".... it attacks all four legs!(The creation of "otherness. individual rights, slavery, discrimination, the poor, racism, etc.)

Unfortunately, the "legs" of the U.S. / American democratic empire and its middleclass commons have been under attack by the:
a) ultrawealthy,
b) an extreme, polarized, right-wing political environment,
c) a "what's in it for "me" greed" based economy,
d) a dangerous "us" vs. "them" angst/anger designed to shut down critical thinking,
e) an obscene/extreme wealth inequality and an
f) all but invisible faction" of ultrawealthy oligarchs using primitive ego thinking to
g) undermine our American democracy .....for decades!
Signs You Are Witnessing A Wealthy Oligarchic Faction In Action
a) when politicians fail to support legislation that protects the middleclass common's voting
rights,
b) when politicians fail to support legislation that offers affordable access to medical care,
c) when politicians fail to pass legislation to reduce high drug costs,
d) when politicians fail to address the existential threats of global warming and climate change,
e) when politicians openly embrace the extreme polarization of a conservative, right-wing political party of "no" that routinely votes in "lock-step" as a solid political block, you are witnessing an obscenely wealthy oligarchy "faction" in action.
f) when politicians fail to support legislation that supports the laws and safeguards that aredesigned to protect the well-being of the commons or middleclass,
g) when politicians pass laws that intentionally protect the obscene wealth of the oligarchic faction and work to increase wealth inequality, and support supreme court laws such as Citizens United.
h) when politicians intentionally use disinformation, lies, conspiracies, and distort the truth to intentionally create social anger and angst that increases a polarized "us vs. them" rage and angst designed to shut down a nation's ability to employ critical thinking (for example, our inability to deal with climate change or prepare for the existential changes that we know are coming.)
America is in the ICU, and the prognosis is dire!
To Summarize
"Unevolved, primitive ego thinking" is "the primary threat" that unknowingly supports the growth of wealthy and powerful oligarchic political "factions." Wealth inequality, racism, ignorance, toxic historical narratives, ideologies of white nationalism, fear of "other," suppression of dissent and a free press, the illusion of separateness, a collapse of the distinction between fact and fiction, and inequality....all undermine the values and foundation of a democracy....and are all created and defended by unevolved primitive ego thinking,
And that includes the insanely dangerous belief that "democracy" and "unregulated/ deregulated neo-capitalism" are synonymous. They're not!
We need to evolve and mature our collective human consciousness before it's too late to prevent the collapse of our American Democracy. We are on the brink of collapse, and we need to aggressively challenge the forces that are working to weaken and ultimately destroy all of our global Democracies….a) gridlocked political parties, b) extreme wealth inequality, and c) oligarchic financed politicians that intentionally spread intentional lies and distortions of the truth and unfounded conspiracy theories that propagate on social media that grossly distort "truth" without "any"consequences….civil, legal, or financial!
Final Thoughts
It's time for humanity to grow up and mature/evolve its collective primitive ego consciousness. Greedy, right-wing, morbidly wealthy billionaires and white supremacists have been corrupting the power of "laws" to collapse empires and democracies to increase their wealth and political power for centuries.
Once again, primitive early childhood ego conditioning and thinking have allowed dangerous oligarchic political "factions" to evolve. The collapse of the U.S./American Empire, the Russian Empire, and the Chinese Empire are the current primary targets of the world's oligarchic factions.
Their goal is clear. They want to increase their already obscene wealth and political power and reestablish a world of "kingdoms, wealthy lords, and autocratic rulers."

We need to beware of the denials, doubts, distortions, and outright lies of the 1%, the Global Fossil Fuel Corporation's, and the right-wing politicians that these ultra-right-wing wealthy oligarchs quietly finance, including the press and social media organizations owned and controlled by these people. But unfortunately, they know too well how to protect the goose laying the golden eggs that create and sustain their wealth and power.
